The best part of a hike is often the last mile, walked in fading light. The TrailGlow harness has reflective stitching along the straps, so headlights and headlamps pick your dog up long before they would pick up a dark collar. It's made for dusk hikes, early starts and after-work walks.

Why it works on the trail

• Reflective stitching: bright reflective thread runs along the straps and bounces back car headlights and headlamp beams.
• Takes the pull off the neck: the Y-shaped front spreads the load across the chest instead of the throat, which is kinder than a collar for a dog that pulls.
• Adjustable neck and chest: two adjustment points for a snug fit that doesn't rub.
• Padded chest plate: soft lining where the harness sits against your dog.
• Quick-release safety buckle: slip it over the head, click it shut, done.
• Two D-rings: a sturdy metal leash ring on the back, plus a side ring for a light, tag or poop-bag holder.

Sizing: measure the chest first

Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of your dog's ribcage, just behind the front legs. Pick the size by chest measurement; the weights are only a rough guide. If your dog is between sizes, size up and tighten the straps.

• S: chest 13.5–18 in (34–46 cm), about 9–13 lb
• M: chest 18–22 in (46–56 cm), about 13–24 lb
• L: chest 22–26 in (56–66 cm), about 24–39 lb
• XL: chest 24.5–28.5 in (62–72 cm), about 39–53 lb

Best for small and medium dogs, such as Chihuahuas, Pugs, Frenchies, Corgis and terriers. It's not built for large, strong breeds over about 53 lb.

Straight answers

Is it a no-pull harness? It stops pulling from landing on your dog's throat, because the Y-front puts the load on the chest. It won't train a dog to stop pulling. For that, a front-clip training harness is the better tool.

Does it glow in the dark? No. It's reflective, not luminous, so it lights up when a light hits it. For walks in full darkness, clip a small light to the side ring.
